Quick definitions for terms you'll see throughout the app. Every term links back to the page that covers it in full.
| Term | What it means |

| NPI | NCAA Percentage Index — the ranking system behind conference seeding and at-large tournament bids. See Rankings & the Postseason. |
| Prestige | A 1–99 rating of your program's strength and reputation. Rises and falls with your results against the board's expectations. See Program Prestige & Your Job Security. |
| Board Expectations | The win total the board sets for you each preseason, derived directly from your prestige. See Program Prestige & Your Job Security. |
| Job Security | A 0–100 score tracking how safe your coaching job is. A critically low score at season's end gets you fired. See Program Prestige & Your Job Security. |
| Hot Seat | The warning state that appears once your job security drops low enough. See Program Prestige & Your Job Security. |
| Revenue Share | Your university's money (sometimes called Wallet A). Funds facilities, support staff, and bye-week activities. See Finances. |
| NIL Collective | Booster/donor money (sometimes called Wallet B). Funds recruiting offers, buyouts, renegotiations, and development camps. See Finances. |
| Legacy Score | A running score of your program's accomplishments, which sets your Donor Tier. See Finances. |
| Donor Tier | A five-tier ladder, driven by Legacy Score, that multiplies the size of your NIL Collective. See Finances. |
| OVR (Overall) | A player's 1–99 rating summarizing his overall ability. See Attributes, Archetypes & Ratings. |
| POT (Potential) | The hidden ceiling a player's overall can grow toward. Stays fogged until you scout it. See Attributes, Archetypes & Ratings. |
| Archetype | A player's style tag (Sniper, Playmaker, Two-Way Defenseman, and so on) that shapes both attribute growth and line chemistry. See Attributes, Archetypes & Ratings. |
| Line Chemistry | The performance bonus or penalty a line/pair gets from how well its players' archetypes complement each other. See Team Chemistry & Player Happiness. |
| Happiness | A 0–100 score tracking a player's satisfaction with his situation. Low enough, for long enough, sends him into the portal. See Team Chemistry & Player Happiness. |
| Portal (Transfer Portal) | The pool of unhappy or unretained players available for every program, including yours, to sign. See The Transfer Portal. |
| Scouting Level | How much of a recruit's true attributes, potential, and personality you've revealed. See Scouting Prospects. |
| Star Rating | A recruit's always-visible, trustworthy talent tier (1–5 stars) — never fogged, even before you scout him. See Scouting Prospects. |
| Redshirt | Sitting an eligible player out for an entire season without burning a year of his eligibility clock. See Eligibility & Roster Rules. |
| Medical Hardship Waiver | Restores a year of eligibility to a player who suffered a severe injury early in a season. See Injuries & Discipline. |
| ELC (Entry-Level Contract) | The NHL contract a player signs that ends his college eligibility immediately. See The NHL Draft & Turning Pro. |
| NHL Rights | What an NHL team gains by drafting a player. Doesn't remove him from your roster — he keeps playing college hockey until he actually signs. See The NHL Draft & Turning Pro. |
| Stamina | Short-term energy that drains during games and mostly recovers week to week. See Lineups & Special Teams. |
| Season Fatigue | Cumulative wear from a whole season's workload. Only resets in the offseason, and caps how far stamina can recover. See Lineups & Special Teams. |
| Buy Game | A scheduled non-conference mismatch where money changes hands between the two programs. See Scheduling & the Calendar. |
| Delegate to Staff | Toggles that let your support staff automatically run lines, tactics, ice time, and training every week. See Support Staff. |
| Frozen Four | The national semifinals and championship — the final weekend of the NCAA tournament. See Rankings & the Postseason. |
| Conference Realignment | The periodic reshuffling of which programs belong to which conference. See Conference Realignment. |
