Team & Conference Histories
Every school and conference in College Hockey Dynasty's default 63-team league has its own invented history — a founding story, an era or two of real triumph, a rivalry, and (for a lot of programs) a rebuild or a rough decade along the way. None of it is generated by the simulation engine itself; it's hand-written backstory for the world your dynasty starts in.
This has no effect on gameplay, and nothing here is meant to describe or make claims about any real school, conference, or person — every name, date, and event below is invented for this fictional league.
Conferences
- Great Lakes Conference — seven programs, the league's deepest history and its two newest arrivals to serious competition.
- Seaboard Conference — eleven programs, the tightest geographic footprint in the league and its most stable membership.
- Heartland Hockey Conference — ten programs, the widest geography in the league, from Lake Superior to the desert Southwest.
- Colonial Hockey Conference — twelve private institutions, the oldest average founding date in the league, and its newest program is also its highest-prestige one.
- Lakeshore Conference — eight programs, the tightest regional footprint in the league, packed into Michigan and Minnesota.
- Liberty Conference — nine programs spanning the widest range of founding eras in the league, plus two service academies.
- Independents — six programs with no shared conference, including the league's most remote rivalry.
Where else to find this
Every team's own page in-app has a Program History button (on its History tab) that opens the same write-up you'll find here, and the team-selection screen shows a short excerpt when you're picking a program to start a new dynasty.
